Reduced membership fees for 2020 - please support your club if you can
We are in unprecedented times on account of Coronavirus and we hope you are all safe and well.
We have decided to significantly cut the membership fee for this season (2020/21) – a reduction of around 50% - to encourage as many members as possible to re-join at this time and help keep the club afloat.
This means a Senior member would pay just £72, a 60+ member £59 and Juniors either £18 or £27 to be a member until March 31st 2021. Hopefully the situation improves later in the year and you should still get real value for money from your continued membership at these vastly reduced rates.
As a not-for- profit community-based tennis club we rely solely on membership fees to survive and we still have significant costs to pay. We really hope you can continue to support your club in these extremely difficult times for everyone.
The club needs to bring in some cash. The last major income were the membership fees a year ago so receiving some cash from membership fees is now vital. Fees are due by April 1st but we will allow payments to come in anytime through April this year. As such current members may use the courts up to April 30th but from May 1st, if you haven’t renewed you will need to stop using the courts.
We have looked at every angle for cost cutting but our minimum running costs for the year are still around £3,000 (insurance, rates etc) and we also have loan repayments (for the new courts/floodlights) of around £3,000 a year. In addition, we recently did some significant tree work to improve the courts which also cost £1,800 before the Coronavirus issue became apparent.
The full set of revised rates are included on the updated membership form. For those people who have already paid the higher original rates, we will be organising a rebate
We cannot emphasise the importance of receiving membership fees to a club such as ours. If you can support us at this time with your membership fee it will be greatly appreciated.
