Junior tennis
WELCOME TO THE JUNIOR SECTION OF CHORLEY TENNIS CLUB.
Chorley Tennis Club highly values its junior members, warmly welcoming all newcomers and encouraging young players to join the seniors on court. It’s a great place to play tennis, whether you’re a junior who’s looking for a friendly introduction to the sport or a more advanced player seeking competitive play.
We will provide information about events and opportunities for juniors at the club during the season.
Chorley Tennis Club is based next to Chorley Cricket Club and is best accessed via the pathway from Walgarth Drive. The nearest postcode for the pathway is PR7 2QW.
Anyone interested in coming along, or who would like to know more, please phone or email our Head Coach John Chatterley on 07980 941 288 or chatterley3@msn.com
JUNIOR COACHING
Our LTA licensed and fully qualified club coaches lead the coaching sessions taking place at Chorley Tennis Club. Coaching is available to all standards of player and is offered on a group and individual basis. By licensing through the LTA, our coaches ensure that their knowledge and skills are up-to-date and that they are aware of important changes and modern standards.
As well as regular coaching sessions, we intend to run Tennis Camps throughout school holidays as usual this year. For details please click here or contact our Head Coach John Chatterley on 07980 941 288 or chatterley3@msn.com
Members and non-members are welcome. Costs are for a block of between four to six weeks and there is a discount for members.
We also offer fun introductory sessions at the Club on Saturday mornings. These are run by Chris Bolton and are open to both members and non-members. Players do not need to book a place; just turn up on the day.
Junior Teams
We are currently represented in the Ribble Junior League with more teams planned in the future.
Competition
Throughout the year, Chorley Tennis Club runs competitions for its junior members, including:
• Annual Junior Tournament
• American Tournaments
The Club celebrates its juniors’ success at Presentation Evening with prizes and trophies galore!
Social Tennis
Advanced Juniors are also welcome to join in with the Club’s senior social tennis sessions on a Wednesday evening and on a Sunday afternoon. These times are set aside for informal friendly games for those looking to just turn up and play.
Facilities
Chorley Tennis Club not only has five full-sized all-weather courts, but also two mini tennis courts, which are a great introduction to the sport for our mini juniors. The Club also provides mini tennis equipment at its mini red, orange and green coaching sessions.
Welfare
Child Welfare at Chorley Tennis Club is very important. We have clear Safeguarding Policies and have an experienced Child Welfare Officer. For coaching activities, we comply with the LTA guidance on coach-to-player ratios.
