Membership for the new season now open

Membership is now open for the new season for new members and for renewals for existing members.

As the winter months come to an end, we hope you are looking forward to getting on court and playing tennis, hopefully under warmer skies.

It’s also that time when we have to ask for your 2023 subscription. It is never a great time to pay membership fees but a subscription at Chorley Tennis Club gives a year’s all-weather tennis which at our below-average rates continues to be of tremendous value.

Remember, if it’s a stretch, you can spread the cost with four monthly instalments. And the relatively small dent in your bank account will be long forgotten when you’re belting the ball around in the summer sunshine.

As you’ll know, we’re a not-for-profit club supporting the local community which is encouraging adults and budding juniors of all abilities to play tennis. This means that we rely on your continued support to make ends meet and we really value your membership.

We’ve continued to invest a lot of money into our facilities in recent years and last year we had another three courts professionally cleaned, treated and repainted plus we improved the floodlights. We hope you’re still happy with our facilities but we’re always looking at further improvements we can make.

These improvements don’t come cheap and costs have increased sharply. We made a small loss last year as the costs were more than the membership fees we received - the court repainting and floodlight improvements alone cost £11,500 and our electricity costs are way up. Our major expenses also come at the start of the tennis year so it’s really important that we get your membership fee early on. We continue to work hard to manage costs and your support of our local community club is very much appreciated.

Your membership fees are due by 1st April and we have decided to limit the increase in fees to the rate of inflation. You can pay directly into the club’s bank account, by cheque or by standing order. The online membership renewal/application form is the easiest way to fill in your details.

The club website has further details of membership information including membership categories and the online membership renewal/application link is here: Chorley Tennis Club - Online Membership Form

We are excited about a full season of social tennis, club tournaments and competitive league tennis in 2023 and it’s important to note that you can play in the Bolton and Ribble leagues ONLY IF you’ve paid your membership fees beforehand.

Thanks again for your support and let’s hope for great weather and an enjoyable 2023 tennis season.
